During the holy month of Ramadan 2025, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced adjusted office and business hours to accommodate the fasting schedules of both employees and the public. These timings are effective from the commencement of Ramadan and will revert to the pre-Ramadan schedule upon its conclusion.

In addition to the banking sector, other institutions have also adjusted their working hours during Ramadan. The federal government offices operating on a five-day workweek will function from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while those on a six-day workweek will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Fridays, all government offices will close at 12:30 p.m. for Jumu’ah prayers.

Pakistan Railways has revised the working hours for reservation offices during Ramadan. Offices operating in two shifts will follow this schedule:

• Morning Shift: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Evening Shift: 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On Fridays, there will be a break from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for prayers. Reservation offices working on a single shift will maintain their existing schedules.

These adjustments aim to facilitate both employees and the public during the sacred month, ensuring that essential services remain accessible while respecting the religious practices observed by millions across Pakistan. Customers are advised to plan their banking transactions accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during the adjusted hours.
